After nine years in professional parish ministry, Ennie and Cana felt as if their personal life and their ministry life were on a collision course. Late nights away from the family, the church's unhealthy attachment to "numbers" and a severe blindness to marginalized neighbors, Ennie felt God calling them into something deeper. With this call, a wild dream and a lot grace, Ennie and his wife Cana detached from non-essentials, selling most of their possessions and became full time domestic missionaries with Adore Ministries. In the context of this inspiring missionary community, Ennie quickly rose as a thought leader and innovator in Christian discipleship and outreach to the margins. Weekly, for ten years now, the Hickmans have invited neighbors into their own home for a community meal, called Family Dinner. Through real life experience of ordinary and extraordinary people on their own porch, God has given them a gift to understand and reach people in a fresh and honest way. In 2019, Ennie and Cana founded the Del Rey Collective.
